Dang It I m Dead Again Spongebob

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) Poster

8 /ten

SpongeBob's return to the large screen in a chiliad scale.

It'southward been a decade since the first picture show, definitely a long wait for the fans. That motion-picture show was a hit, but I don't know why information technology took so long for the second. Honestly, I loved this one as well, admitting I'1000 not a die-hard fan, just a supporter. I of the beautiful drawing universe with unique characters that tin entertain all ages. The new addition, especially for this film but, the Antonio Banderas did his part wonderfully. Never seen before stunts in SpongeBob world that comes in the concluding battle.

Whenever I review an blitheness picture, I ordinarily bring second and 3D blitheness topics to denote how the applied science has transformed. 'Asterix' from France, 'Doraemon' from Japan, and recently America's own 'Mister Peabody' remodelled in 3D and saw tremendous success. So why not SpongeBob, but only for a modest portion they have tried and it was awesome. Most importantly the story blended well with the twist in the character reformation.

This movie is in a second batch queue for the Oscar race, that mean a slim chance to go a nominee, but I don't think it will make. That does not mean the movie is bad, it was very adept, and then entertaining and super funny. Simply not an Oscar textile, that's all. If anyone hasn't seen information technology yet, I absolutely suggest to try it out. I hope information technology won't take some other ten years for the next film in the series.

It's A sneezer for the adults, but fun for former sponge bob fans.

Alarm: Spoilers

Btw. this is my kickoff review! hope y'all enjoy! I saw this film a day after it came out. I was excited to see a new sponge bob motion picture! I kid y'all not, the time travel scenes did make me feel giddy. I caught some of the old jokes like "My Leg!" While watching this movie, I enjoyed the superhero forms but I thought it was gonna exist similar the old episode. I took my lilliputian sister to meet information technology and she liked information technology because of Spongebob characters. I liked the rap battle between the Dolphin and the Seaguls. A nice om-historic period to Epic Rap Battles of History. Information technology was a very comical experience (I.due east. the cannon assurance in the bubbles and the ice cream flying out of the store. All in all, a corking motion-picture show for the kids, and fun for sometime sponge bob fans like me

This pic was so messed up... but I liked information technology anyway.

Summary: This movie was then messed up... merely I liked information technology anyhow. 70/100 (B-)

Fifty-fifty though it'southward not even close to the awesomeness of the first movie, all the same a proficient picture show. The animation was great and the jokes were funny plenty. The whole audience was dying of laughter! There were a lot of strange and messed up moments in the movie, at that place was as well a reference to "The Shining" and I was like: What the hell am I seeing? Anyway, this flick is anything simply boring. I couldn't accept my eyes of the screen, I was so entertained the whole running fourth dimension. The first SpongeBob film was already surreal and weird, this one... *sigh* has crossed the line.

The 3D was incredible, well washed and eye-popping. At that place's a great action sequence almost the terminate of the movie with the pirate involved (performed by Antonio Banderas), and it was so damn funny and fast-paced. On the downside, some repetitive jokes go tiresome as the running time goes, the in a higher place-water stuff was way too short and well... actually the whole movie was very curt to me, I don't know why, this movie should exist longer! Again, the whole above-water stuff that you can see in the trailer was actually 20% of the movie, seriously WTF, I wanted more.

I left the theater a bit unsatisfied. I felt like I just watched a movie that's 50 minutes long. Also, another of my issues was the ending, the songs in the ending were unnecessary and a little bit annoying. In addition, another event was the villain. Antonio Banderas was great, simply his graphic symbol is not very well developed, he was a quite uninteresting villain. Leaving aside its flaws, I noticed one thing, the editing is really well done and even though information technology has some messed upward moments the moving picture is never disruptive because its premise is and then short and easy to follow.

The editing makes the whole film more than dynamic and easy to understand. So, in conclusion this SpongeBob moving picture is not even close to the 2004 moving picture, just information technology has enough visuals and clever gags to satisfy the audience in general. The above-water sequences are then damn enjoyable, the 3D looks fantastic and there are a lot of moments in the movie that are so damn surreal and messed upward! Think of an animated version of Interstellar. Also, I don't desire to spoil information technology, only I'one thousand just gonna say that first scene with the dolphin was so foreign.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people will dislike this film, mainly because of the ending, some annoying songs, the strangely uncomfortable moments and the shortness of the film. Only to me, it is not a bad movie at all. I highly recommend it, especially if you're fan of the TV prove. If you're going to see it, you must see it in 3D and on a huge screen. It is a pretty good spectacle. Information technology is great that the movie took advantage of its 3D format, information technology looked slap-up. Also, do not forget to come across Squidward'south dancing in the end credits, information technology volition remind yous to the old times. (B-)

Classic Spongebob Returns

Spongebob Squarepants is one of the greatest animated television shows of all time. It sounds weird, just for some reason, it shaped the sense of humor of a generation and possibly one of the inspirations that helped exceed the imagination and inventiveness of many cartoon shows that came after. The show itself has been terrific in its first three seasons, but after its get-go characteristic motion picture, it slowly loses its impact until every graphic symbol becomes something else other than what they were one time known for. This latest Spongebob film might exist the end of its glory as it seemingly panders the audience into another lame Alvin and the Chipmunks/The Smurfs arroyo, just surprisingly that only becomes a marketing stunt, and information technology turns out that well-nigh of the movie is basically just like the show, but at its original form. Information technology didn't demand whatever yard or blockbuster type of plot to save the material, we but need to revisit the stuff that we truly loved about Spongebob.

Other than its creative animation and zany undersea world, Spongebob Squarepants has ever been known for its richly established characters and unique sense of sense of humour. I haven't seen the evidence in a while, specifically the newer episodes, just I do retrieve how the ones that followed season four have get paler incarnations of the prove. This characteristic film, while stuck in posing every bit a typical family unit flick fare, is actually meant to stay loyal to what really defines this bear witness. The characters accept gone dorsum to their classic personalities (Spongebob tin now be reasonable over again than just a complete goofball) and the humor is smartly priceless in an ultimately unhinged way. The film doesn't offer anymore bigger plot than retrieving the Krabby Patty secret formula, it'south all about fooling at the audiences as it messes with the logic and their senses, the Spongebob manner, of form.

The mix of animation and alive-action is definitely never a stranger to Spongebob, only its involvement is often taken as a joke. Here, it'southward supposed to be its key idea. Though, information technology takes so long for them to get out of the water, in spite of its title, but when they do, information technology still sticks to its own surreal, extremely ludicrous way. But their welcoming antics up there felt forced, in comparison. The 3D stuff really exists to attract the viewers who thinks it's gonna be a cute adventure with the characters as silly superheroes, but it'due south mostly only a small payoff to those who take that expectation. Information technology kind of cheats them, otherwise it's a cool flim-flam for instead luring them to what makes this cloth and then enjoyable. Simply nosotros don't have to underestimate this approach as well much, because patently it'due south still pretty fun when they are in the real world, giving the humans some hilarious reactions, similar the one who's wondering if the Krabby Patty he's eating is hallucinogenic after encountering the gang as superheroes.

As feature film goes, it doesn't go across bombastic, if it does and then information technology's all about the weirdness instead of epic proportions. This is basically just similar a new episode on a length of an actual movie. And the cast has always been great no matter what. Out of all the cartoons Tom Kenny has been, Spongebob will ever be his best and he once again brings the lovable amuse to the character. While Antonio Banderas makes a fun turn as the villain, but his moments are the 1 where he interacts to talking seagulls which amazingly works for this character.

The Spongebob Moving-picture show: Sponge Out of Water is what the fans deserve. Not sure how the newcomers would exactly react to it, but this movie fully represents the true spirit of the show. It would be a brilliant surprise to the ones who missed this nifty side of Spongebob. It didn't need any deeper sentiments or darkness (unless nosotros're referring to its twisted humor, considering it gets a little close to that.) Sure it'southward not the best episode e'er either, but information technology has and so many elements that remind usa why nosotros loved this bear witness in the first place. The out-of-h2o scenes weren't as bad equally many fans were worried near, information technology's just some randomly crazy add-on to an already fun ride. Overall, information technology's more cornball than groundbreaking, I do hope this moving picture would be the conservancy of this show. Information technology won't change anyone's life or anything, we but like Spongebob to be Spongebob once again and that's already given also much to a fan like me who grew upwards with the cartoon.

Remarkably true to its title

This is my first coming together with Spongebob, equally I have never seen the bear witness or the previous movie. I was somewhat familiar with it, as anyone exposed to internet popular civilization would be, simply non plenty to know any of the characters by anything but looks. The movie did a peachy job in establishing everything I needed to know.

I loved how it combined cartoons, alive action and CGI. It was flawless. And I was amazed that they dared to take so much of the moving picture in plain old manus blitheness. I enjoyed the plot, only I sometimes wished they would have made it a chip more circuitous, as that could safely take been washed without making information technology harder to understand for children.

The first function of the movie seems like what could take been a regular episode, with small Banderas-breaks in between. The latter part is the fish out of h2o-story, which could probably have worked simply every bit well without the build upward from the start function.

I'm sure children loves this movie, and if you're open to silly characters breaking the fourth wall, yous'll have no trouble watching it with them.

Spongebob fans will not exist disappointed.

This picture is very enjoyable film overall.

The story, while it borrows from episodes from the prove, is quite well thought out. Basically, it'south an take chances film, a fourth dimension travel motion picture, an action movie and a superhero all at once, and the film pulls that off quite well. It has a overnice throwback to the older Spongebob episodes from when the evidence was skillful. That pirate was quite entertaining and I recall that Antonio Banderas did a very expert job with that role.

It is also very clever and funny at times. Given that the show has kinda gone downhill since 2005, I was not expecting it to be that funny, but it really surprised me. The jokes here are quite impressive. I don't think I have laughed this much at a Spongebob drawing since the start Spongebob film "The Spongebob Squarepants Movie".

The movie is well animated. Information technology has a neat blend of hand drawn animation, live action, and computer animation.

The moving-picture show likewise has a catchy soundtrack, featuring a few musical numbers involving some of the characters, and iii songs by N.East.R.D. that appear during the end credits.

This is pic is, overall, downright fun. I can't call up of a single part where I was bored with it.

There were a couple of problems that I had with the film. One of them is that the plot drags a little bit up until the concluding human action. The other problem I had is that the computer animation on Spongebob and his allies, while decent, was not terribly believable.

Overall, I really enjoyed Sponge Out of Water and I would recommend information technology to anyone who is a fan of Spongebob and/or is into animation.

Funny equally hell

I was never actually into Spongebob as a child or, stoned out teenager. I was more than of a Rocco's modernistic life guy. When is he coming out with a film? But y'all don't need to be a fan of the cartoon before, to dear the movie at present.

Half 2D blitheness like the TV show, one-half live activity with Spongebob and his friends done in 3D CGI, Antonio Banderas plays a pirate captain of a ship telling what feels like another episode of Spongebob with Plankton'due south new attempt on trying to steel the formula for Krabby patties to make the Chum Bucket better. Than to flip the script on us, the pirate captain steels the formula forcing the gang to travel to the surface to get it back.

It's a funny cartoon way comedy. It'south been a while since I've seen some slap stick cartoon animation and the sponge delivers squeezing the laughter right out of you (pun). It was a lot of little giggles leading upward to a few big laughs. You tin can't help it. A lot of smart people worked hard to make these guys real stupid.

And I dear it when animation goes to the limit with it's story telling. Spongebob had a very surrealistic experience. Just similar the cartoon, information technology was like I was on something simply don't need to be to enjoy the fun.

And that was what the drawing was in a nutshell, fun. Playful for all audiences no thing what the age. Total good time at the movies.

Very different from ANYTHING SpongeBob related I've ever seen. High hopes for Flavor x!

This picture show wasn't equally good every bit the original movie (mainly because information technology felt similar an hour and a one-half long episode), but I have to admit that the one-act in this movie was 110% top notch and better than all of the episodes that came after the original movie. When I heard that Stephen Hillenburg returned for the moving picture, I was excited. However, I can definitely tell that his sense of humour has inverse (not in a bad way, though)

For example, Seasons ane-3 (Gold Era of SpongeBob) had some adult humor, mixed in with cartoonish humor for the more than child-friendly side. The original picture was besides as such.

Flavour 4-9 were just straight bland cartoons. Nothing really funny, just Spongebob and Patrick laughing annoyingly for a 30 infinitesimal fourth dimension slot, with the plot beingness something either rehashed, or simply direct bland or predictable.

This movie, nonetheless, was Fashion different than anything SpongeBob related I've ever seen. The comedy that Stephen Hillenburg brought dorsum to the table was very different than we've seen in Seasons ane-iii. The jokes in this movie made me think I was watching a moving-picture show similar Plane or Top Gun, the jokes just being unpredictable in the stupidest style, which was extremely funny. For example, there's a office where Plankton tells SpongeBob "Look! Hold your thoughts!" and SpongeBob is then seen, literally holding a thought chimera, just stupid unpredictable comedy like that. I appreciate that, and dear that information technology is refreshing. There were also some suggestive themes in the movie, so the adult appeal is definitely dorsum!

On the kid side, it was also EXTREMELY different than I've always seen in SpongeBob. At first, I didn't like how over the elevation and WEIRD this motion picture was on the kid friendlier side, only I stopped and realized that kids from 1999 and kids from 2022 are ENTIRELY different and have different appeals. Afterward realizing this, all of the randomness and overall WEIRDNESS in this motion picture fabricated sense. Instead of following the same boring and bland formula from seasons iv-9, someone in the writing staff must accept finally said "Heed, we need to catch the appeal of kids today. If we're going to make kids interested in our testify, we need to pull them in." and I have to say that it definitely did. I know what the kids are into these days (not trying to sound former), and SpongeBob definitely pulled it off in this new motion picture.

With an entirely different, hilarious, and refreshing comedy stance than seasons 1-3, and a huge attempt at really appealing to kids of 2022 rather than following a bland formula, I have to say that Season 10 is going to exist one of the best seasons since the testify started. It will reel in kids over again, too as appealing to adults with classic humor and unpredictable comedy. I feel every bit if the entire show is going to be COMPLETELY different, and it will definitely be noticeable!

In a nutshell: Loved the movie, comedy was refreshing and hilarious, the kid friendlier side I thought was stupid, but you have to realize that kids in 2022 are different than kids from 1999.

Mind Expanding

I'k most 100% sure this movie was made to watch while tripping, given that for about 10 to xx min of the flick you just sit there and inquire yourself, "WTF going on?".

This is definitely a movie that can exist enjoyed by kids and adults alike. If yous're besides good for the ridiculous humor that is SpongeBob then yous should probably lock yourself in your house and keep your buzz kill personality with you.

The 3D visuals were surprisingly skilful. In fact I would say it's some of the best I've seen. I definitely recommend watching this flick in 3D.

Go up and go watch this moving-picture show and just permit loose. Y'all and your kids volition love it. In fact you lot don't even demand the kids, cause you'll love it. Life's too short to exist boring! Don't permit those critics who retrieve they're too sophisticated go on you lot from seeing the moving picture because deep down inside we're all immature! ; )

Fun for the Whole Family!!!

Alert: Spoilers

I've always been a fan of Spongebob ever since I was a child. The serial premiered when I was ix years erstwhile, and I'm surprised he'southward still going strong after all these years with 10 seasons and at present 2 movies. This review will incorporate spoilers! This movie isn't really a 'sequel' to the 2004 movie. Information technology can stand up on its own. It's about even with the start motion picture, but this one has ameliorate and more recent jokes, and a lot more action, particularly in the existent world. Antonio Banderas was a trooper to appear in such a kid's moving-picture show. I know he was in 'Spy Kids' but he seems to be making more adult-themed movies nowadays. I applaud him for playing such a lightheaded Pirate named Burger Bristles.

Burger Bristles the Pirate searches for a magical book that tin make whatever is written in it come true. While Spongebob fights Plankton yet again, the Krabby Patty secret formula vanishes into thin air without a trace. The town goes crazy and assumes Spongebob is in cahoots with Plankton. They reluctantly team up to build a time machine. (Half the movie felt like it should've been called 'Sponge Out of Time' because of the time-traveling. It takes a little while for him and his friends to invade the real world) Spongebob, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward, and Plankton soon come to our world and with the help of a magic page from the book, they all become mighty and muscular superheroes and try to stop Burger Bristles. The action and fighting scenes were great. This pic really appealed to my inner kid, and if you lot've grown upwards watching the serial or your children love the show, you lot'll all love it. It'south great fun for everyone. I highly recommend THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER!!!

It's okay

Warning: Spoilers

For most Nick movies, they are rarely any good okay movies. Heck, fifty-fifty theatrical releases aren't even much. The contempo ones being TMNT Bay bombs. In this plot we become off the ground with live action Banderas getting a volume, ane affair i did like is the creative ways of Plankton attacking the Krusty Krab. It is and so he loses, or really it's a robot in disguise, earlier Plankton could get the formula it disappears. Krabs so turns all the people on Plankton and then before existence attacked Spongebob saves him, and at offset you've been wondering. I thought this is about superheroes. Trust me it'll come, just at the end. They and so go far a Mad max parody, anybody turns on Spongebob and Plankton and everything's a wreck. I should mention that the movie like the offset i references old episodes this does the aforementioned, and some of the garbage ones. In that location's an awful song in it similar Atlantis Squarepantis, Plankton goes into his listen like in the within job and also when Patrick takes the key like in Idiot box. Afterward the mad max plot ends they time travel back and the transition are amazing. They get dorsum and take hold of the false formula and they go to the surface afterward almost sacrificing Spongebob, so this is were we get the sponge out of water part. Which is weird considering, beside the commencement motion-picture show when they got out of the h2o in the cyclops scene. They've been out of the h2o for many episodes. They are confronted by a human, yet Spongebob and Patrick forgot what humans are. They face him and ask how he did information technology. The aforementioned manner Neverending story 3 did it, past realizing the book writes their story, and he writes himself to take the formula. Then writes them into death until they exercise the same. Then the come up back with powers When they take it back and then stop him from writing in the book. When he's stopped for a short moment, he goes subsequently the book. The volume is burned and so they go after the formula all are defeated quick until Plankton beats him and Spongebob writes them dorsum home. To the way things were, and Banderas sings with seagulls. I should probably tell you in that location were seagulls that usually were with Banderas. I didn't talk about them, because they were pointless and unfunny minions, simply like the minions. Also Bubbling the dolphin, who prevented stuff from happening has a scene and an catastrophe scene. That was like an awful version of Epic Rap battles of history. They terminate information technology and cue credits. It takes an hour or so to go to the hero part and about 40 to fifty seconds to get to the out of water and mostly is the blandest Mad Max parody. It'south okay

A satisfying 2nd outing,...if non a little besides outrageous

There are a couple of factors that come into play when TV cartoon characters have their big screen appearances. The biggest one being that the cartoon became so popular, a movie needed to be made. Sometimes it also signals the finish of the serial. The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (2004) was originally creator'south Stephen Hillenburg's finale to the TV series. However, after exceeding box office predictions, Spongebob was renewed for several seasons later. One would call up afterward that showing would also warrant another big movie to be made soon after. Well information technology came,...surprisingly really late compared to how well received movies get a green lit sequel then quickly later. Sometimes, though the time is worth the expect and this can be said for Spongebob's second large screen entry with some of the usual flaws (well-nigh obvious being continuity).

Like many other Spongebob episodes and the movie earlier this, Plankton is upward to his erstwhile tricks once again; attempting to steal Mr. Krabs' hush-hush Krabby Patty formula. Except this fourth dimension, there's more than going on involving the surreptitious formula than fifty-fifty Plankton knows. Out of nowhere, Krabs' secret recipe vanishes among the city of Bikini Bottom when a mysterious private named Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas) enters the picture. With that, the urban center of Bikini Bottom descends into anarchy, and so Spongebob decides he needs to find a manner of getting the recipe back in social club to restore his hometown into a tranquil society. The writing headed by Glenn Berger and Jonathan Aibel who were also the brains behind Kung Fu Panda (2008) and Monsters Vs Aliens (2009) accomplished what most fans of the series should enjoy. And although Stephen Hillenburg is not directing this fourth dimension, his correct paw human being Paul Tibbitt is.

As an overall presentation at that place aren't many issues with this production. 1 of the near notably unlike things virtually this movie is that it doesn't exactly stay in line with the previous story of the final motion picture. Information technology's actually difficult whether to classify this is a sequel or not. Information technology feels like more of a reboot (for those who are debating). All the same this is a minor flub. All the memorable phonation-actors from the Tv prove return once more to voice their undersea counterparts and that's always important. Antonio Banderas equally Burger Beard was certainly an interesting choice only considering who could've idea Banderas could play such a convincing pirate? He proved himself of that and for his age, he nevertheless gets around quite well (which was also proved in The Expendables 3 (2014)). The dialog besides leads to number of funny moments, all of which each chief character gets even screen time to brand a funny. Many of which these moments interruption the fourth wall.

This also can be a weak betoken unfortunately in the screenplay because beingness silly is fun, simply the comedy sometimes goes a bit overboard. What the first motion picture has that this i doesn't is a sense of realism. Here, some scenes get a bit nonsensical to where it denies the universe that The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (2004) established. The reasons behind these frivolous events are explained, which is appreciated, but this is what detaches this entry from its last and what makes it questionable to whether information technology is a sequel or not. Then over again, with these outlandish ideas come alternative animation visuals. For Spongebob'due south traditional blitheness sequences, the scenes are perhaps even more honed than the first entry; it looks crisp, clear and brilliant. Nevertheless, what stands out even more is the live-action animation (also directed past Mike Mitchell, best known for directing Sky High (2005)). The grapheme textures and 3D renderings await very well unified in their ain correct. Spongebob and friends almost expect touchable and that's crawly.

Side by side in line with that are some very entertaining action sequences. This is more of the focus when the story hits its 3rd act merely it's worth the wait. Honestly for a Spongebob characteristic, seeing this much action never seemed like a possibility or interest the producers would e'er want. Example in point, that was an wrong assumption. A number of activeness sequences actually go quite inventive with how the conflict ensues. Well done. Phil Meheux'south cinematography for the live-action scenes are also well constructed. Seeing that he was also the guy with the eye in The Mask of Zorro (1998),...which likewise had Antonio Banderas, seems simply fitting. Much of the camera shots are well lit and wide enough to get a clear view of the scenery. John Debney, a composer who has previously scored multiple family unit comedy and action related films maintains his style past making the scenes appropriate where they need to exist while including the Spongebob theme. Although there is i scene that doesn't belong to Debney which is where the film crew directly takes a snippet of Ennio Morricone's music from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). This is however fun though.

Spongebob'southward 2nd big screen outing is rightfully made bigger and more profound. The blitheness is more spot on, the returning vox-actors / live-action performance from Banderas, activity and comedy all work hand in hand to make a fun ride. Occasionally though, it does go out into left field a bit more its predecessor.

Fun and Goofy. Messed Up in Many Entertaining Ways

Alarm: Spoilers

Narrative, apparently, isn't i of the new Spongebob film's strengths, and to wait too much of information technology from that department, warrants a huge disappointment. Exist that as it may, it does not make Spongebob any less of an amusement.

The flick plunges us dorsum to Bikini Bottom where the legendary Krabby Patty gets stolen. This sparks a revolt amongst loyal followers (this includes almost every single citizen in the underwater community), and existence partly blamed, Spongebob is forced to surge forth to the surface, and head to the state, blasting into the human world. Joined past Plankton, Squidward, Patrick, Sandy, and the restaurant owner Mr. Krabs, Spongebob embarks on a mission of acumen the enemy, Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas), and reclaiming the missing krabby patty recipe.

Whatsoever the movie intends to evangelize doesn't really affair, because ultimately in the cease, what strikes most is that Spongebob ends up doing what information technology is supposed to do and being what information technology is used to exist: a comic relief. Regardless of how thin and deficient the material is, the picture show comes out as a confident extension of the Tv set evidence we've ever loved, and for everybody who adores the graphic symbol since childhood, it will be piece of cake to appreciate Spongebob for what it really is and has always been. For the record, last February, I desperately criticized 50 Shades of Grayness for its almost empty source material. Spongebob may not be any different, and I observe it hard to pick amend choice betwixt the 2, only taking into account every unmarried skillful attribute from both films, Fifty Shades doesn't fifty-fifty strike as a worthy competition. Sorry fans. Lol Bursting with vibrant colors and loud with goofy one- liners, SPONGEBOB MOVIE: Sponge Out Of Water is all for the jokes. Information technology'due south messed upwards, but in many ridiculously entertaining ways. This is definitely a movie that will not come across as something less than amusing. The kids (and kids-at-heart) will definitely love it. 7/10

It may have not been equally absorbing as the first moving picture, Sponge Out of Water manages to perfectly capture the shows goofy and surreal nature

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants! Absorptive and yellow and porous is he? Spongebob Squarepants! His nautical nonsense is something to wish. Spongebob Squarepants! Then driblet on the deck and flop like a fish. Spongebob Squarepants!

Y'all know the residue. What person under twoscore doesn't know the melody to the Nickelodeon hit Spongebob Squarepants? It's grown to such a level in our culture that the little sponge is now upwardly there in the cartoon ranks of Betty Boop, Popeye, and Fred Flintstone. I call back watching the premiere of the cartoon while I was staying at a friend's firm. Nosotros were watching the Kids Selection Awards in 1999 and this unknown body of water animate being was next.

The reasons I liked this guy was for the aforementioned reason I liked him in the outset; Spongebob himself is a very likable graphic symbol. He's overly optimistic, he a bit of a goofball, but he loves everyone to a core. He makes mistakes but tends to learn from them. He'due south obviously struck a string on anybody else if he'due south all the same around today (which of course makes me feel erstwhile). That sponge is now making his 2nd cinematic adventure in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

On country, a pirate named Burger Beard (played by Antonio Banderas) has obtained a magical book that tells the colorful adventures of Spongebob, however can be rewritten at any point to change whatever goes down in Bikini Bottom. Meanwhile, Spongebob and his dominate Mr. Krabs are once once more stopping the evil Plankton from steeling the Krusty Krab krabby patty formula (the McGuffin of the Spongebob universe). As plankton most succeeds in making his latest caper, the formula suddenly vanishes out of thin air. With no way to make new krabby patties, the unabridged boondocks wants Plankton expressionless despite his innocence.

Spongebob manages to create an escape for he and Plankton, making them fugitives. They devise a programme to build a time motorcar to go back before the formula was stolen. When that doesn't work, they are about taken equally a cede, just stop when they notice the smell of the famous fast nutrient coming from above. Knowing that they have to go to a higher place the surface, Spongebob, Patrick the starfish, Sandy the squirrel, Squidward the squid and Mr. Krabs venture forth onto the beach where they see that Burger Beard was the one who took their formula. It's the bounding main creatures vs. the pirates for the krabby patty clandestine formula.

Information technology was eleven years ago since we got Spongebob Squarepants: The Pic and though information technology's no masterpiece, I thought it was a big step for the little sponge and remains a stiff animated film from Nickelodeon. The Spongebob Flick: Sponge Out of Water pulls out all logic to give us something even goofier. I say this in a skilful manner for fans similar myself who expect a lot of the characters oddball personalities and fifty-fifty the show's somewhat abstract animation.

The film'southward trailers have advertised the live action sequences even though they take upwardly simply the final xx minutes. The rest of the movie is traditionally animated like the show itself. I'm non complaining, every bit movie theatre today is seriously lacking in such beauty and even takes advantage by plussing up the look of Bikini Bottom as The Simpsons Motion-picture show did for Springfield.

Though the vox actors do a good job with their established characters, Antonio Bandaris totally steels the show as the nigh stereotypical pirate that you would usually see at a children's birthday political party, yet is really having fun and is in on the shows goofy temper. My only criticism is that while Spongebob goes through a skilful character growth in the start movie, here everything goes back to normal where information technology all started. I gauge they have to keep it in sync with the cartoon, just a lesson learned would have been prissy.

I'll give this eight krabby patties out of ten. Yous'll know if you like this moving-picture show by watching Spongebob on Television receiver first. If you don't similar the evidence, your not going to be swayed by this flick, but I expect this to exist a pleaser for defended fans.

The meaning of life

Well, it was a nighttime like any other. Except I'd just taken mushrooms for the first fourth dimension and I was tripping my goddamn balls off!

And as I sat there in the most comfortable absorber seats of the theater gazing in to the infinite humor of youthful cartoons what I realized was that I was about to discover the meaning of life.

A yellow sponge and a blood-red sea-star traveling trough infinite and time accompanied by joy. And Ye pirates that screamed ahoy! From surreal imagination kittens to epic rap battles this movie made life immortal.

That my friend, was the last fourth dimension I always did try mushrooms, I can't say I regret it though. I mean, it is important to broaden your horizons.

How else would've learned to live amongst the grizzlies? But hey, that'due south a story for another night.

Cheers,

Goofy Goober

A different Spongebob than what I recall

If you were born in the mid-to-tardily nineties, "Spongebob Squarepants" was likely meridian priority whenever y'all were fortunate enough to have TV time or the Tv all to yourself. Even equally I approach my twenties, and my gustation in films and TV shows has gotten, what I'd like to believe, is a lot more sophisticated, certain childhood shows are still towards the meridian of my priority list, and it's rare I don't become a calendar week without watching a few episodes of shows like "Arthur," "The Berenstain Bears," or "Spongebob Squarepants." Even equally I sabbatum in a nighttime room of almost xv young children equally the oldest person in that theater solitary to watch "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of H2o" , every bit soon every bit the motion-picture show opens and I heard that infectious and memorable theme song to "Spongebob," a cheery, indelible grin was stuck on my confront and maintained itself for a good portion of the film.

If nothing else, "The Spongebob Moving picture: Sponge Out of Water" has the ability to shatter cynicism as shortly as it begins, and carries through with a charming sense of silliness that we've all expected from its aquatic cast. I recollect one of the commencement DVD collections of the show was called "Nautical Nonsense," and what a perfect summation of "Spongebob" to anyone who hasn't seen or heard of the program (if in that location are people).

The moving picture opens with live-action footage of a pirate named Burger-Bristles (Antonio Banderas), who discovers a book that tells the story of Spongebob and his friends, all of whom living under the ocean in Bikini Bottom, and that annihilation written in the volume immediately becomes truth. We are plunged underwater to zero in on all the action, where we see the Krusty Krab, endemic past Mr. Krabs (voiced by Clancy Brownish) and the place of Spongebob's (voiced by Tom Kenny) employment, is thriving, while Sheldon J. Plankton's (voiced by Mr. Lawrence) restaurant beyond the street, Chum Bucket, is merely as empty as information technology ever was. This results in a biting state of war betwixt the two restaurants, through the utilize of condiments and fast-food, which is surprisingly fun and sets the moving-picture show's zealous, incredibly chaotic tone right abroad.

Plankton has e'er tried to get the secret formula for the Krusty Krab's effeminateness known as the Krabby Patty, and just when he has the canteen that contains it, fighting Spongebob for it, the formula disappears right before their eyes. The disappearance of the Krabby Patty secret formula causes an entire breakdown of social club (why the sandwich can't be made even later the recipe is lost, despite Spongebob being employed at the restaurant for almost two decades is beyond me, but moreover). As a issue, Spongebob and Plankton form a team in guild to endeavour and piece of work together to obtain the formula, while the entire town of Bikini Lesser embraces leather clothes and completely crumbles from the lack any kind of gild in the customs.

Discard any preconceived notion equally to how random and senseless you lot assumed the show "Spongebob Squarepants" to be, as this film is much more random and scattershot than anything related to the character you lot've seen earlier. The moving-picture show, for starters, is a cross between traditional animation and alive-action combined with CGI, which, thankfully, is a gimmick that'southward underused, despite what the trailers convey (it only takes upwardly about twenty minutes of a xc-three minute runtime). The film, however, is one of the virtually psychedelic things I have witnessed in theaters; a consummate visual hodgepodge and auditory cacophony of madness and randomness. Consider the scene where Spongebob and Plankton embrace fourth dimension-traveling in lodge to obtain the formula and stumble into a plethora of different dimensions, one where they meet a live-activeness Dolphin named Bubbles, who is ordered to assure Jupiter and Saturn do non collide.

Even the songs in the film, unlike in the original, 2004 film, are congenital off entirely random verses and harmonies, and this is ane of the biggest bug with "The Spongebob Motion-picture show" as a whole. Its lack of narrative cohesion and the fact that information technology purposefully muddles itself, often mistaking random senselessness for humor. The film is more reminiscent of those "hip" blithe programs like "Run a risk Time" and "Regular Evidence," which, again, use the randomness that seems to amuse the best of this and the last generation over actual storytelling. "Spongebob" has never been an entirely linear drawing, merely earlier episodes stuck to some sort of plot and etched in jokes and gags that were related to the plot. This picture show ofttimes squanders that principle, and if something is funny, it's usually because of the idea that if you throw enough things at the wall, eventually something volition stick.

Give "The Spongebob Movie" credit for completely embracing its lightheaded idea, exhausting every possibility to exist completely hare-brained in every mode. I have a feeling young children will similar information technology the best, simply the reaction amongst tweens volition be incomparably mixed. While the characters and their personalities haven't inverse a slap-up deal, this feels like a totally unlike "Spongebob" than what I grew up with. Whether it's because I've grown up or the show has really underwent some kind of stylistic modify is a question I'thousand nevertheless deciding on at this time.

About perfect.

This pic is one of those nearly perfect movies that I've seen. The plot is pretty dang absurd, although information technology reuses elements from previous episodes, the visuals are terrific, though I did take to get out the theater for a few minutes to cool my eyes down, and the characters are, well, great! Invincibubble is cool, Mr. Super Awesomeness is, well, awesome. Sour Annotation is sorta interesting, Sir Pinch-a-Lot is my favorite, and Plank-Ton is basically Nickalodeon's equivalent of The Hulk. So, overall, Sponge out of Water is a MUST Meet moving picture if you are into Spongebob, and, sadly, this is the last film before the testify discontinues in June. But anyways, information technology's a nearly perfect moving-picture show, and it earns the kat in the hat seal of blessing!

+Good visuals +Great heroes +Squeamish plot -Too much time UNDERwater

Expect the Unexpected

Permit me showtime off by maxim, before I saw this movie, based on the trailers, my expectations were every bit depression every bit they could possibly exist. I was expecting this movie to be the nail in the coffin for the Spongebob franchise, and I was legitimately concerned that I would never see a proficient thing come from the series ever once again. Boy was I wrong. Sponge Out of H2o is an absolute TREAT for both onetime and new fans of the series akin, and the movie kept me entertained to the very cease. The 2D animation is the best animation I have seen in a LONG fourth dimension. I plant every frame enjoyable, and it almost has a Ren and Stimpy like feel to it which made me capeesh it and then much more. (If you e'er watch/re-watch this movie, take a good look at the facial animations during the 2D parts, they're absolutely brilliant). Not only this, but the jokes and gags are hilarious, and only occasionally autumn short, simply when they do, they make sure to make up for it. (Listen for the "my leg!" recurring gag!). Also this moving-picture show is sure to leave y'all wondering "what volition happen adjacent?!" As you tin can never quite predict what the writers will throw out at yous (others take compared this movie to an acrid trip, and I don't want to spoil annihilation, but I found it a rather enjoyable one) The only matter I did not like was the "superpowers" part, (this was the role that turned me off in the first place) equally I felt some of them tried "too hard" to make the audience laugh, and it just didn't feel similar Spongebob. Thankfully this part only lasts about xx minutes, and moves onto one of the greatest movie endings, tying it upwardly all in a bow with a dainty rap battle that came out of nowhere (Creators of Ballsy Rap Battles of History), and some interpretative trip the light fantastic from Squidward that parodies his famous trip the light fantastic toe moves from a previous episode. All in all, this movie would have been a 10/10 if Spongebob stayed anchored, and never had left the water. The live action visuals were impressive, but during those scenes, the one-act hit a dry spell until the final moments of the movie. If y'all're a long time fan of Spongebob, this is a dandy flick to relive your childhood a little bit more. (Hopefully the new flavour of the TV bear witness will exist just equally adept!) Go run into this flick.

Awesome 3D movie

Back at that place in 2004 when the first Spongebob movie was released, I couldn't see information technology in the movie theater. When I watched the first trailer of this new movie I was very happy to know I would have the chance to come across Spongebob, one of my favorite cartoons, in a big screen, and the best role, in 3D! I actually savour watching 3D movies, and this 1 wasn't different.

The animation is stunning - both under and to a higher place the water scenes! The live-activeness scenes are also astonishing, and all of them have great 3D depth!

The soundtrack is very good likewise, information technology even has some musics that the TV show fans will recognize. And in that location is a song that Spongebob sings with Plankton, merely like one of the one-time episodes of the testify were they sung a vocal together. And in that location are some another references to the Television set show, and about of them are really funny.

This picture show looks like just a long episode of the TV show (more than like the new seasons along with some references to older seasons), so most older fans will probably love information technology, and the new fans might similar it also!

An extended Spongebob episode with some impressive animation

What practise you experience when you hear the familiar lines of "Who lives in a pineapple nether the body of water?" Is information technology annoyance, or is it a sense of joy at singing the happy go lucky tune? Do you blench from the gruffness of the sailor'due south voice, or do you turn up the volume to the theme song y'all know and beloved? No matter what your reaction, you can look it to go stuck in your head if you lot go to encounter the latest movie near the yellow sponge. That'south right, the adjacent SpongeBob flick has landed in theaters and here is

What y'all might expect: Childish Humor, A basic SpongeBob plot, interesting animation choices, and Antonio Banderas making a fool of himself.

What y'all become:

1. Childish humour is the staple of the Nickelodeon series, and this movie is no exception to the rule. Trivial kids volition enjoy the familiar bouts of our yellow hero, equally Tom Kenny brings his energetic, ADHD mannerisms to the silverish screen. SpongeBob doesn't pull any punches in this motion-picture show, starting over the top with a state of war against plankton using condiments and spanning beyond familiar plot elements like time traveling and super powers. Similar most episodes he even so is a gullible, optimistic puppet, who seems to be naïve to all the bad things in life. His ear splitting laugh comes at you in total environs sound and his repetitive jokes will crash in an epic tidal wave of either enjoyment or annoyance. Helping tow the line of jokes is the stubby pinkish starfish Patrick, whose idiotic tendencies are stronger than ever. Similar his yellow chum, the pinkish buffoon acts as the medium for stereotypical fat jokes that revolve effectually starving to decease, licking pictures of nutrient, and controlling ice cream cones to battle evil. He has a few idiotic quirks, just there isn't anything special in this film. Despite all the familiar antics though, the sense of humor volition entertain your young ones, my theater in particular filling with the gleeful squeals of the numerous kids. I myself laughed at a few of the well timed puns, enjoying references to some of the earlier episodes and the clever jokes hidden within. If you're not a fan of this humor though, then sorry parents, merely this movie doesn't have as much hidden adult humor as you might like. You lot might notice watching your kids express mirth, enough of a reward to go meet the movie in the film.

ii. As for the plot of the movie, no surprise here that information technology is the same simplistic tale that we have seen in the hundreds of SpongeBob episodes, just extended. Once more the tale is centered on the golden sandwich of artery clogging goodness the Krabby Patty. We've seen the countless renditions of its theft, but this time nosotros surprisingly get a new twist on its disappearance, which is poorly explained in the tale peradventure to keep the "mystery" going. Regardless in the attempt to observe the delightful treat, we learn just how much the denizens of Bikini Bottom depend on the burger, with the whole town evolving into anarchy due to its absence. Along the way we become SpongeBob teaming, or TE-AMing, up with an unlikely marry and leading to random story points aiding their journey. A running gag with a dolphin got a little weird for me, and his "porpoise" to the plot was a fleck of a stretch for me. In a movie similar this though, I don't think a conducive story is what yous are going for, only just be set from some pretty trippy stuff to happen.

3. Animation wise the movie is solid. Though not every bit fluid equally the blitheness in the earlier flavour, SpongeBob's team has washed their work once more. A niggling over half the film is in 2-D cartoon format, with brighter colors and some computer assistance to bring the more exciting scenes to life. However, the 1 area that most of you are wondering nigh is the computer generated three-D furnishings that the trailer promises. Ignoring the die- hard cartoon purists rants; the CGI work is impressive and fun as the squad transverses from bounding main to land. For me the animation was even improve, and was the more "unique" aspect of the movie as the squad moves well-nigh the real life environment. In addition this scene quickly put the petal to the metal, and quickly jumps into the action frame as they don their super powers. The superhero scenes are still funny and simplistic, but fans again will similar the antics to be had every bit they fight against the evil burger beard.

4. Speaking of burger beard, poor Antonio has stepped into ane of his more ridiculous roles. The once suave swordfighter is reduced to a rather lame pirate who spends his days talking to animated seagulls, finding an all powerful book, and luring the masses to his burger stand. Banderas is simply silly in this tale, and does over the top gestures and screaming to make everyone laugh. I myself didn't express mirth much at the lines, but I requite him props for entertaining the kiddies. Non much more to say about this 1, and so let's wrap things upwardly.

This moving picture was fun and a swell choice for taking your kids to the movies. While I like the first motion-picture show much better, Sponge Out of Water has a plenty of silly fun to relish. With decent animation and vocalisation piece of work to support our merry band of heroes, one will experience they have landed in an extra long episode of the show. Worth a trip to the theater? Non really, but if your kids are dying to go to the movies then by all means give it a shot. Once more exist ready for anything to happen, fifty-fifty a rap battle between dolphin and seagulls.

My scores are:

Animation/Take a chance/Comedy: 7.five Moving-picture show Overall: 6.v-7.0

A bit of a disappointment...and a bit heartless.

While I enjoyed the first SpongeBob movie as well every bit the television series, I was less than enthralled by "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of H2o". This is because unlike these other SpongeBobs, this moving-picture show is not written well and the characters are a bit heartless and behave oddly to say the to the lowest degree.

The film begins with Plankton making yet another try to steal the Krabby Patty formula. While it looks to nearly everyone that Plankton DID finally steal the formula, SpongeBob realizes that some unseen forcefulness stole it instead. Just no ane listens to SpongeBob and soon all of Bikini Lesser turns into a weird post-apocalyptic world...much like a Mad Max picture show. Then, it's upwardly to Plankton and SpongeBob to travel through fourth dimension and somehow steal the formula Earlier it's stolen! In the process, they become some help from a weird dolphin.

The biggest problem most this moving picture is that I was saddened to come across Everyone in Bikini Lesser becoming so hateful towards SpongeBob so quickly. The movie definitely lacked centre and seemed uncharacteristic when they wanted to sacrifice SpongeBob!! Because of this and the overall dark tone of the story, it'southward not an especially good movie for younger viewers....plus it really lacks fun...especically in the extended CGI sequence near the finish.
